"CHanging the Way we live to preserve Where we live"
is our slogan, philosophy and a way of life that has been an integral part of our company for almost 20 years.

Cotleur & Hearing does a great deal of work in the area of environmental consulting throughout the state of Florida. Cotleur & Hearing's environmental experts include biologists with advanced degrees and over 40 years of combined experience. Their work focuses on conducting environmental assessments, wetland delineation studies (highlighted below), protected species surveys and all types of environmental permit applications including Environmental Resource Permits.  Cotleur & Hearing has had the distinct honor of working on the design and monitoring of numerous preserve areas in Florida.

One area of expertise for Cotleur & Hearing is Wetland Delineation.  Our biologists have been responsible for the jurisdictional wetland boundary determination for well over 50,000 acres of wetlands in Florida. Primary projects have ranged from several thousand acres of power plant sites to wetlands of less than an acre for residential and commercial developments.

The delineation process begins with the examination of existing wetlands, soils maps, aerial photographs, as well as our Geographic Information System (GIS). GIS enables our environmental staff the ability to conduct efficient, multi-layered analysis before they get to the field. Once in the field, hydric soils, wetland vegetation and hydrological indicators are sought to establish wetland boundaries. These Indicators are needed for a given parcel of land to be claimed a wetland.

All of us at Cotleur & Hearing continue to stay abreast of what is going on in the world of "Going Green" and being "Eco-Friendly."   We have four, senior-level employees who are now LEED certified, and we continue to strive to be the best in every area of our company, especially the environment.

Today, everywhere we turn, we hear about businesses and government "going green" and promoting energy conservation initiatives. At Cotleur & Hearing, this philosophy is in our roots and it is an integral part of our culture to integrate development with natural systems. It is our responsibility to be stewards of the land and to set an example for the generations that follow us. Today, we continue to expand on our commitment to the environment and are pleased to announce that four of our Senior Professionals are LEED AP certified.
